Fax not sent. Remains in the out box.

Hi ,

I am having a peculiar problem with my Win XP x64. I installed the fax
services, and when i try to send a fax, it does not go, it remains in out
box. I went to help file, there it asked me to check if local services were
on, i checked that too, it is on, no problems there.
The modem i see in device manager is SOFTV92 Data Fax modem with Smart CP.
There is no problem with the modem as i checked using DIALER to call my other
number and i am able to call my other number. I am also able to use 3rd party
fax software like VentaFax.
So please help me guys.

XP Fax is intolerant of many common modems. It is especially intolerant of
other fax software and will frequently not work if another TAPI based fax
program has ever initialized the modem. Uninstalling the fax software will
not change those modem settings. You may have to continue to use VentaFax.
