Fax & Modem errors

W2K Fax problems with modem. Same errors on 3 differeent
PC's and different type modems. Modems work fine with
other Fax software and when dialing internet.
1. Sending fax, dials OK, but says receiving phone
no. "busy" when it's not.
2. Modem does not answer when set to receive fax. If
handset picked, says "answered - not a fax call".
3. When handset picked, voice communications OK, but
fax "sound" in background.

What is the modem you are using? Is that a Microsoft ceritifed modem ?
Check whether the modem you are using is a Microsoft certifed one in below

Two of the modems are Lucent Technologies "Win Fax"
modems, one is voice/data/fax, other data/fax. 3rd modem
is a PCMICA Psion Dacom 56K & Fax Gold Card. None of thes
are listed on the referenced link, but they are also at
least 5 yrs. old. They all worked fine with W98 and they
work fine with W2K non-Fax applications.. Thank you.
