Fax from XP to HP 2210 all-in-one using Fax Monitor

My Dell lattitude has an internal modem and I have an HP
2210 all-in-one printer-fax-scanner. XP detects my
internal modem as a fax device using the fax monitor.

But I can not use the "print to fax" utility in MS Office
to send fax to HP fax device. XP does not recognize the
HP fax as a modem-like device. I can't tell MS Office to
print to HP and also tell HP to handle it like a fax
(like I am rerouting a print document into the fax
buffer). I have to print the document and then feed it
throught the fax scanner, and manually enter all cover
page info using the HP utility (stinks)

Is there any way to automate the process of sending
documents to the HP all-in-one, as a fax, using the cover
page presetup and other features of the XP fax
sending/monitoring utility?

Do you have proper Phone line connection from your PC ? You should connect
your phone cable to Line In behind the PC in the Modem?
Since you also have a all-in-one device you may probably want to multiplex
into the phone line. (By a splitter)
To fax a document, you dont Print to the HP Printer. But instead you would
'Print to' Fax printer.
Click Start - Settings - Printer and Faxes. You should see a ICON called Fax
apart from your HP printer.
If you have this type of connection you may want to decide where to receive
the faxes, and disable the other device.
