windows mail comes up automatically when 'contact us' from some webpages 2.
have folders to sort inbox mail at verizon webmail

NOW ALL MAIL IS IN WIN MAIL and not in Verizon
THEY CAN'T HELP US

TRIED TO FORWARD EACH BACK BUT THEN WE ARE 'SENDER' AND CAN'T SORT FROM INBOX

Country has nothing to do with it, Albert Einstein commented that only
two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and added
that he wasn't 100% sure about the universe...

The problem may be to do with which program is set as "Default" for
sending email, and I believe the version of Internet Explorer you have
may make a difference too... mention which versions of IE and Mail you
are using and maybe someone can at least prevent this in the future...

You can't put the mail back, but you can prevent it from happening again by
going to Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and check the box
that says to leave a copy of the messages on the server.

What you mean is that Outlook was set up as default, which means that it
downloads messages and deletes them from the server.

This is the default for almost every mail client.

As you see, you can't put the mail back.

You are limited to setting Outlook or whatever mail client you are using to
leave a copy of messages on the server.

What's done is done.
