Loosing Mail

I loose all mail in INBOX at live.com when I open Window Mails (running on
Windows Vista operation). The messages moved from online e-mail account
right into Window Mail. How can I shift all INBOX messages in the Window
Mail back to original inbox account at live. com? Can I forward it? Can I
copy all messages in Window Mail then forward it back to live.com? How can I
STOP all messages from leaving inbox at live.com which transfer to inbox at
Window Mail?

Go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Advanced,
select "Leave a copy of messages on server." Depending on how
much server space your ISP allows, you may want to select one or
both of the two associated 'remove' options.

That will only prevent the problem in the future. As for the already downloaded
messages, you can individually forward them to your Hotmail account.
There is no mass or automated way to do that unless you go to a lot of
trouble by installing Windows Live Mail, which will import all your WM
accounts and messages. Then set up your Hotmail account again in
Windows Live Mail but allow it to default to HTTP protocol. Then you
can copy or move messages from the POP account to the HTTP account.
The HTTP account will then sync with the Hotmail server and restore all
the messages to webmail.

This is the default behaviour for all POP mail clients: mail is downloaded
and deleted. Any POP client that you just set up and run will do the same
thing, regardless of OS, including Outlook, OE, Thunderbird, Seamonkey,
Entourage, Netscape Mail, etc.

You can turn this off, in the Advanced tab of the Account properties. Set
it to "leave a copy of messages on the server". It's best to set this up
before the initial download; a way to prevent it while setting up the
account is to either disconnect the network cable or deliberately enter an
incorrect password.

IMAP clients don't work this way.

You can't put the mail back on the server, as they were, once it's
downloaded. If you forward the mail to yourself, it will appear as to you,
from you, and more or less at the same time, which isn't particularly
helpful.

Glad to hear it worked. I only gave you the broad outline of how
to do it, but you ran with it. Good job!
