"Explorer Has Stopped Working" Problem (again)

G

Guest

When I attempt to start a Slideshow of photos using the Explorer toolbar, the
first picture launches and then, after about two seconds, closes with the
message "Explorer has stopped working".
I then get the usual series of messages that "Windows is looking for a
solution to the problem" etc, but no answer is found.

I get the same if I go through Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Problem reports below:

I am using 32 bit Windows Home Premium on a Novatech PC with an Intel
3.00GHz dual core processor and 2Gb RAM and 320Gb hard drive.
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE graphics card.

I have turned off UAC and DEP, but still the problems occur.
Any ideas? Program conflicts? (Nero, iTunes are both installed)

Please help !!

see this was answered in anther news group.
the solution was to remove the 2 avi files from the folder.

answers get propagated to the different places you post to if you cross post instead of entering individual posts.
to do this enter the news groups all on the same line in the message.

the OP indicated there were 2 avi files in the folder he was trying to use a slide show.
removing the 2 avi files stopped explorer from crashing and the slide show to work.

he original post was in a different news group and was not cross posted here.
was just updating anyone who might have been interested.
