Looking in stabillity monitor shows that on the 4 nov there were updates
from microsoft but it was still a week before problems started. the day
before 9th nov I installed a trial version of corel painter x and on the day
of the first explorer crash I Uninstalled windows live sign on assistant. I
notice that on the 10th nov there were updates for stability problems but the
problem still exists. I have since uninstalled corel painter x today and I am
waiting to see if this affects the problem. I will not reinstall windows live
sign on assistant as I do not require it. I have an athlon 64 x2 4200+ with 2
gig of ram and msi platinum motherboard. I have a nvidia 8600gt graphics card
and plenty of space on my hard drives running vista ultimate. Can anyone
throw some light on what is likely to be happening. I know from reports on
the internet that a few people are having problems with the stackhash module
with iexplore but not with explorer. I had no problems before 10th nov.
thanks for any help

Hi
when you say same here do you mean they started when you installed corel
painter x trial. I have since uninstalled this and the problem seems to have
stopped.

Hi
To any one who is having this problem. I have not had any explorer restarts
since uninstalling corel painter x demo on the 16th nov. I have to assume its
an incompatabillity problem with this program or its 30 day monitor. I do
know the corel suite of programs add a service to the system that runs on
boot up to monitor if the software is licenced or a demo and to adjust the
days left accordingly. If this service is stopped the program will not run. I
have to assume its a problem with the trial software as I am running a
registered version of corel painter essentials 3 with no problems. hope this
helps.
