Explorer Crashes

I frequently have been getting messages of late which say that particular
memory cannot be referenced. The shell stops unexpectedly and Explorer.exe is
restarted when I try to access many of my folders containing digital photos
or video.
Has anyone got an explaination for this, or is it just me?

Try hotfix 889389 for XP with SP2,if installed,its for ie.
