Explore command for "File Folder" is not working

In windows explorer Goto

Tools > Folder Options > File Types >
select "File Folder"
and advanced settings for all "File Folder"

Here from the list of actions availabe for "File Folder"
somehow the command(exe) that is executed for the Action-- "Explore" is
changed.

I need some help with the following::

1) what is the exe file that is supposed to be run when we explore any file
type
i.e. when we right click any folder and choose "Explore" from the menu which
exe/command is supposed to be run

2) I have one more problem
even if i know the .exe file that is to be
associated with the Explore action... i will not be able to change the
command because
When i select the "Explore" in the list of actions available for "File
Folder"
the Edit button is disabled

can somebody please help me with this.

Hi Red,

The "Explore" is not supposed to be present under "File Folders", as it's already under "Folders". As the "Edit" and the "Remove" buttons are grayed out by default for "File Folders", you may need to edit the registry in order to remove the additional "explore" action.

Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
Go to the following branch:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

Select the subkey "explore" and delete it.

("find" is the only verb that's present by default, in the above location.)

Close Regedit.exe

Hi,

Thanks now the "Explore" is working properly.

however i still have a small problem

when i right click on any folder , the context menu i get is in the
following order

Search
Play with VLC Media Player
Explore

and therefore when i double click any folder "Search" function is being
executed i.e new explorer is opened with that particular folder as search
location.

IS there any way i can change the order of the right click context menu to

Explore
Search
Play with VLC Media Player

so that when i double click a folder the "Explore" action is executed.

Here i do not want to remove "Search" or "Play with VLC Media Player" from
the right click menu. all i want is to change the order so that when needed i
can also use either "Search" or "Play with VLC Media Player"

reg add hkcr\directory\shell /ve /d none /f

To fix this manually via registry:

If this problem is seen for Drives:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Set (default) to "none" (without ")

If this problem is seen for folders:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
Set (default) to "none" (without ")

I can not see but one drive letter which is c: when I go to my internet all
the drives com up an i can axsess files but not in explore when i open it.
