Win XP Pro SP1
PC had been infested with a lot of spyware and many files
were infected with various trojans.

I removed spyware known to spybot 1.3, ad-aware se & pest
patrol.

When I try to go to web sites such as
www.pandasoftware.com/activescan and www.trendmicro.com to
run their online scans, the ActiveX settings message
appears.

I have set security settings to "low". I have added
*.macromedia.com, www.*.pandasoftware.com &
www.*trendmicro.com , but the problem persists.

Thanks for your help.

Mr Fix IT

Here's what worked:

Per KB 318378, I'm running sfc /scannow , presently.

If that doesn't fix it, I'll try to fix it by changing
IsInstalled to "0" in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active
Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-
00AA005B4383}

and then install / re-install IE 6 SP1

Then, from: http://www.kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?
kbNumber=822798
