Exclamation sound every 95 seconds

Unexpectedly, I didn’t knowingly install anything, my system (Win XP
Professional V2002 SP2) sounds “Windows XP Exclamation.wav†every 95 seconds
with no active application. It will also do so with all start-up modules
disabled. This sound is only associated with “Windows Exclamationâ€, as of
sounds in control panel. There is active virus protection and a hardware
firewall. I did not find any virus, worm, etc.
Watching processes with task-mgr doesn’t help identifying a related process.
What can I do to identify and/or resolve this issue?

Have you looked in Even Viewer? You might see someting repetitive in there.
The suggested Process Explorer is a good idea too.

Thank you! This module will be useful if the problem reoccurs. As
miraculous, as the problem started so it disappeared; after about one day of
repeated dinging it went away by itself!?
