Excel2003 pivot tables: "There are too many records to complete .

This pivot table worked in Excel2000. Why am I getting this message in
Excel2003?

I don't think this is a 2000/2003 issue, simply that the field that is
trying to be dropped is either trying to display more than 256 columns or
32500 unique rows
