Excel won't work anymore

Hello

I haven't used excel for over a year( it used to work perfectly) but when i
tried to use it earlier it asks me to insert cd-rom to install it, I do not
have any windows cd's as the computer was brought with the programms ready
installed, is there any way to fix this

Sorry to have bothered you...but I have managed to fix it by reinstalling
original componants of microsoft office 2000 from my pc insead of disk
Now why It didn't give me that option the first few times I tried I will
never know!
