Excel does not open spreadsheets by double clicking on the icon

If I open Excel first and open the file it will come up. Error message is
"The system cannot find the file specified".

Try Tools / options / general tab / uncheck "ignore other other
applications"

When I open Microsoft Excel, they had check to ignore other applications,
I uncheck and click o.k. Open excel attachment and file open. Thanks again!!!
