Excel will not open files

I have Office 2007 which I have been using for quite a while w/no problems.
However, last week I began getting errors when I attempt to open saved Excel
files by double-clicking on the files. I can however open the files using the
File/Open function in Excel with no problems. The error message I get is
"Windows cannot find "my filename." "Make sure you type the name
correctly....blah, blah."

Any idea what is causing this problem? It also occurs with any new files I
create.

Help!!

success in finding a cure?

Couldn't find any help w/out paying $40 plus to talk to tech support. I'm
just living with it; The problem occurred after warrant expires of course.
Since you're having the same problem...then I know it just wasn't me. Repost
if u get any help.

I found the solution from someone else's posting of the same problem. To fix
it:

1. Go "Excel Options"
2. Select the "Advanced" tab
3. Uncheck "Ignore other apps that use DDE"
