Excel 2007 runs out of resources after running for a period

Hi,

I'm running XP pro on a HP NW9440 mobile workstation with 2Gb memory, all
software being up to date.

Excel 2007 initially works but close the spreadsheets you are working on but
leave Excel running in the background, then after a while it runs out of
resources, tells you to make more memory available and slows the computer
right down.

In addition its appearance becomes unusual when all the menu bars and tool
bars become visually corrupted.

Workstation has latest Drivers and diagnostics indicate all is OK.

Rest of Office 2007 programs work.

Any clues? Office 2007 has had all the latest patches applied.

You are not alone !
Recently set up 7 New Dell's with 2gb ram, Dual Core 3ghz, XPP fully up to
date. Added Office 2007. Users start reporting that on starting at 9:00am by
4:30 pm they get out of resources issues with Excel. Currently Rebooting at
dinner time to bypass errors. How quickly errors appear will be a function of
available ram and level of excel use. Memory usage in task manager is not
even 20%.
Obviously a memory management problem with Office - but where !
Lets see if Microsoft will acknowledge the issue and even possibly fix it !

Thanks! So it's a wait and see - probably will get fixed in some future
update - I also use Excel 2007 on a C18 Toughbook with less ram and never
came across it.

So it's wait and see.

I recently posted basically the same question. The issue happens whenever
the spreadsheet is open for more than an hour. The screen will go blocky and
the error message-out of resources appears. I have not been able to find a
fix yet. I've been having the problem for about 6 months. Every computer in
the firm is having same problem. Short term fix was to save and exit the
spreadsheet and re-open it every hour. Annoying to say the least.
