Event ID: 7023 HELP!

M

MistyEyes

Hello!
I am always getting this series of incidents, and they seem to happen
between 5-10 times in a row in a 1 minute span! I did notice that MS
has a 'fix' and/or there might be a .dll missing. the "Appmgmt.dll"
file. I think that this happened when I used add-remove. If it is the
"Appmgmt.dll", where can I get a clean copy of one??
TIA

XP Home?

Adding or removing a program may generate Event ID 7023
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=328213

I think SP2 fixes this problem.

Also, it's appmgmts.dll, not appmgmt.dll. Appmgmts.dll is the Software
installation Service.

Appmgmts.dll
[[Appmgmts.dll is an MMC extension to gpedit.dll that provides
settings for Software Installation Group Policy.]]

Group Policy is not available with XP Home, so neither is appmgmts.dll.

If XP Pro...
appmgmts.dll is in >>>
C:\WINDOWS\system32
and
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache

Also on XP Pro CD >>>
A compressed version of appmgmts.dll is in the I386 folder. APPMGMTS.DL_ is
the file.

I installed the SP2 and the event 7023 stillkeeps popping up, preventing the loading of Apps with 16-bit loaders. How do I get the hot fix for this?
Thanks
