Could someone help me please? An acquaintance of mine set up my computer and
installed Windows XP, but this turned out to be one for evaluation only (I'm
in Germany...it says "Evaluierungscopie".) ...to try out for a length of
time. I can only go on my computer for a certain length of time because I
always get a warning telling me that Windows will close down in one hour(
which it does and then re-boots). I obviously need to get a correct version
of Windows, but I am not sure how to go about this. If I buy Windows do I
have to de-instal and then re-instal or can I
somehow update and validify my Windows programme on line ?
I am obviously not that computer literate,so would appreciate any help that
can be offered. Thanking you in anticipation of an early reply. !

A German version of XP is installed now? Home or Pro? If you buy the same
version German Home (or Pro), you can perform a "repair install."
How to perform an in-place upgrade (reinstallation) of Windows XP

If you need/want a different language version (or have Pro and want Home)
then you'll need to perform a clean install.
