error message

when I turn on my laptop it displays the following
message: error - irq not configured. It used to say no
operating system and then I gave it to someone to be
repaired. When I got it back it had this new error
message. Did they mess it up more or do I just need a
new hard drive?

I assume you see some BIOS message and then this message. If so this
message indicates that the BIOS is having trouble configuring resources.
It is probably a bad motherboard.
