Error Message 0x80240022

I previously posted this problem on General Discussions; received suggestions
but none resolved the problem. Continue to get the error message "Windows
Defender was unable to complete the update: the wrong diskette yada yada
yada..." I'm hoping there are some new solutions to this problem.

Sorry I missed that thread. So--you took Dave's advice, and did that
succeed in setting the definitions back to 1.0.0?

Nobody suggested what I would which is:

Go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and install all offered updates.
Repeat until no further updates are offered.

At that point, your definitions should be current, and future attempts to
update should not result in error messages.

Suggestion did not work...Got Microsoft Update message saying:
"The following updates were not installed - Definition Update 1.14.1642.12
for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597)"
