ERROR: Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment

I have seen many people with this same problem and have not seen any
real explanation as to what causes it, or how to fix it. This problem
has becoming quite a nuisance in my office and I'm hoping someone has
a real solution. We are running Exchange Enterprise 2000, and both
Outlook 2002 and 2003. We have a shared office calendar and individual
calendars where meetings are created and modified. This error will only
happen with recurring events and only after one occurrence of that
event has been modified. Our office calendar has 25-30 events per day
on it and has never had problems until recently (within last 8-10
days). The users are not able to edit or delete any recurring events on
their personal calendars or the shared office calendar and get this
error "Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment" 5-6
times in a row, i.e. after the message window is closed, the same
message will open, and another, etc. I have deleted the FRMCACHE.DAT
from the client computers with no effect. I do notice that I can access
and modify the event entries via Web Outlook Access. What is going on?
Why is this suddenly a problem and is it server related or client
related? Thanks in advance.
