The following error (blue scren)keeps appearing and
crashing my computer-

Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0xBFA39F4C,
0xEC915E44,0x00000000) tripdxp.dll-address BFA39F4C base
BF9B7000,datastamp 3ea7a27f and the computer crashes.

I am getting this error message farely frequently, and it
seems to be associated with opening / running Mcafee
viruscan. The subsequent Microsoft error report says it
is a driver but not identified by them.
I asked microsoft but they say they cant help I must go
to Toshiba (theyre no help, no one to call), went to
Mcaffe - they sent me to microsoft - so round and round
we go. Can anyone help !!!

Actually, the Stop: 0x0000008E error is most often connected with bad
hardware, like RAM or a hard drive. I would do some hardware diagnosis,
as follows:

1. Test the RAM - I like Memtest86 from www.memtest86.com. You will make
a bootable floppy or cd from the precompiled Windows binary. Let the
test run for an extended period of time (like all day or overnight),
unless errors are seen immediately. If there are any errors, replace
the RAM.

2. Test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility downloaded from the
drive mftr.'s website. You'll make a bootable floppy and then boot with
it. Run a thorough test and if there are any errors, replace the hard
drive.

If this seems a bit much, take your computer to a good local repair shop
(not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and have them fix it for you.
