error 1920

when I try to install windows defender beta 2 i get a error message which says

Error 1920.Service Windows defender Service(WinDefend) failed to start.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I am the administrator of computer and use Win 2K with SP4. Help me soon.

I'm having the same problem.

Running:
Microsoft (R) Windows 2000 (R) 5.0 2195 Service Pack 4 Uniprocessor Free.
Fully Updated
(This machine has nothing on it but Win2k + SP4 + Updates + GDI+)

The Windows Defender Service service is staring.
The Windows Defender Service service could not be started.

A system error has occurred.

System error 2 has occurred.

The system cannot find the file specified.

Same problem with windows 2000 sp4. Will there be an answer soon?

I was able to get around this issue by manually updating the system at
windows update page, and selecting all high priority updates. Once the
updates were applied, restart the computer and then try the install again.
