Hi,
I am having problems deploying XP SP2 using Group Policy in a Windows
2000 Server Environment.

When the client restarts it appears that SP2 is installing. However it
does not.

This is from the client application event log:

Product: Windows XP Service Pack 2 (1033) -- Error 1722. There is a
problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of
the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel
or package vendor. Action AdminRunSetupMin, location:
\\******\*****\i386\update\Update.exe, command: /q /z /msi

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I attended a Microsoft brief on WinXP SP 2 yesterday. Asked about deploying
via Group Policy. Short answer: Do not. It will not work. You will need to
find a different delivery tool.
