The error in the log file "Failed To Enable SE_BACKUP_PRIVILEGE" is related to the permissions for the currently logged in user.

In the Administrator Tools, check the the Local Security Policies for the "User Rights Assignment",and make sure the "Administrators" built-in-local group is on the "Manage auditing and
security log" right and "Backup files and Directories"

It may be a good idea to reset the security settings back to the defaults.

How To Reset Security Settings Back to the Defaults (313222)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;313222

Default Policy Research to determine what has changed.

1. Go to start, run, and type mmc
2. Go to file, add/remove snap-in, then click ADD. Choose Security configuration and analysis. Click Close then click OK.
3. Right-click security configuration and analysis and choose Open Database. Type a NEW NAME such as "default" and click OPEN. (this creates a new database.)
4. "Import template" appears. choose "setup security.inf" and click OPEN.
5. Right-click on secruity configuration and click "Analyze computer now." You may also 'Configure" if desired. Note that for both options it creates a log file and prompts you for the location of
the log file.

The Analysis highlights mismatches between the default security policy applied when you installed the PC compared to the current policies.

If you right click any item that has a RED X and choose properites it will tell you what the default database setting was and what the computer is now.

XP SP2 will work with the default settings applied.
