SP2 Install Failure

Can't get SP2 installed using automatic update on a XP HE computer
which otherwise works well. Was also unable to install from the DL'd
Microsoft file. The svcpack.log entry is:

Bit the bullet and restarted with a clean XP install. No problems and
now am reinstalling software. Kept getting disk errors with scandisk
which are now gone.
