Epson RX500 All in One Printer Install

I've purchased an Epson RX500 Photo Printer/Coper/Scanner recently. Well for some reason my PC doesn't see the scanner system. The printer works great, the copy part works great, the multimedia card reader works great, but for some reason the computer doesn't see the scanner. The scanner does work though. I can scan pictures to my compact flash card and bring them into a software program that came with the printer. My device manager shows a yellow exclamation mark indicating a problem. Well I can't uninstall it because it says my pc needs it for rebooting. I can't update it either because I get some kind of a class installer error. I tried installing & uninstalling several times. I've gotten the latest drivers from the web site(epson). I've also spent several hours on the telephone with Dell(PC) and Epson(Printer) to no avail. Can anyone give me some suggestions to try. It would be much appreciated. Thanks

If Epson can't tell you how to install their product , I don't know who
can. If it's XP compatably and it won't install , take it back. Jym

I have the same exact problem! I am done with this unit. I have spent close to 2 weeks dealing with Epson, NewSoft, and Dell. No one can tell me what to do. How frustrating

I would keep the unit if someone could tell me what I have to do to fix it.
