Empty Inbox

Hello,

I'm the Network Admin over 20 XP workstations in a Windows 2000 Domain. I
setup a new desktop for this one of the existing users on this domain. He is
still connected to his old computer and everything works fine for him.

However, when I setup his new computer, I can't get it to show any of his
email in the inbox. We're using Outlook 2002. This same user is still able
to see his inbox email on his old computer. On this new computer, I entered
our Exchange Server name as well as his User Name in the Tools->Email
Accounts window. I also configured his email to be delivered to his mailbox
as opposed to PST in this same window. So it looks like it's connecting to
the server, but even after I do Tools->Send/Receive->Send and Receive All, it
still doesn't deliver any email to the inbox.

This is a really strange problem. I've setup several other users here; I
know how to do this. The only thing different about this computer is it came
preinstalled with Office 2003. So I removed this program and installed
Office 2002. But this is the same Office 2002 used by everybody else. And
I've done a Windows Update to make sure we have all of the latest patches.
Everything else works just fine on the new computer. And there were no
errors in the Event Log; the device manager checks out ok, also.

Is there anything special I need to configure in his AD properties?

How can I fix this so that he also receive his email on this new computer?

This is working now. I think the problem is that the old computer that he
was still logged onto was set to "Manually control connection state" under
Tools->Email Accounts->More Settings->General instead of "Automatically
control..."

Because after he logged off this old computer I seemed to be receiving
emails on the new computer which was set to "Automatically control." Does
this make sense? When one of the computers is set to manually control the
connection state, does this prevent receiving Exchange email from other
computers?
