Emailing Contact Group Members

Any help appreciated

I don't have Vista , I'm trying to help a friend.

She has a contact group list of club members who receive monthly
newsletters. As she'll be away for 2 months , another member of the group
( who also uses Windows Main in Vista ) will be taking over her duties. Is
it possible to email the group members list so they can be imported by
person 2 ?

TIA !!

Your friend needs to click on File, Export, Windows Contacts, CSV.
Then she can email the resulting .csv file to the other member,
who does File, Import, Windows Contacts, CSV. The only problem
is that Group information is not retained. The export will have
*all* the contacts, not just the club members. The import causes
the club members to be interspersed with any existing contacts
that the other member may have. One workaround would be for
the other member to temporarily delete his contacts from
C:\Users\username\Contacts before doing the import, and then
restore his original contacts after mailing out the club newsletter.

Many thanks for the reply. I suspected as much...

My suggestion would have been to use Windows Live Mail ( or Thunderbird
etc ) exclusively for the group to prevent ' intermingling ' with existing
contacts

As always , your advice is much appreciated !

Your idea to use a separate email program for the newsletter
chore is a good one. Windows Live Mail can also import contacts
from a .csv file.
