Contact Groups

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A friend recently became involved in a group where she is responsible for
creating and distributing a newsletter. I don't have Windows Mail (or
Vista ) myself so it's not easy for me to help her.

We have created a contact group with all the members but now we need to
email the contents of that group ( I.e. all the members ) to another party.

I use Outlook 2003 and can open a group and select FORWARD from the Actions
menu which creates a message with the group list as an attachment.

Is the same thing possible in Windows Mail and if so , will someone using
Outlook Express or Outlook 2003 ( on XP ) be able to open and import it ? We
had to convert the .vcfs to .contacts for use in Windows Mail.

Thanks

The exchange of contacts information is best done by using the common
CVS format.
Export contacts from Windows Mail (File, Export, Windows Contacts, CSV
(comma separated values). That file should import into most other
programs capable of handling contacts.

Hi Gary

That makes sense of course , but won't it export the entire address book
rather than the contact group itself ? We were aiming for just the group

Sorry, I missed the part where you only wanted one group.
Windows Mail has no mechanism for exporting just one group.
The CSV file can be edited in Excel, but I don't give that much
hope because the group information for contacts is not included
in a CSV export. It would have to be hand-edited rather
laboriously.
