Viewing contents of contact groups

I have created several user groups and then deleted those email addresses
from the main contact list [so i didn't send messages twice in a 'select all'
scenario]
Problem now is that i can not see the contents of those groups....so now
when somebody has left one of those groups i can't see where they were to
delete them.
Nor can i select a single address from within a group to send mail to

How can i display the adresses that are grouped together in order to delte
one from a group or send to a single member of a group ?

Operating Vista only - not upgraded from XP

once you delete them from the main contacts list they are gone from the group as well.
you have to leave them in the main contacts list as well as in the group.
