How do I get the sound louder when I recieve mail and why does it not always play a ding

My computer is new and the speakers are on loud

Hi Lisa,

You can adjust the volume of your computer by either of
the following options.

Option 1.

1. Look for a small speaker icon in the notification area
of the task bar and click on it. (The area in the bottom
right of your screen with small icons to the left of the
clock)
2. Now adjust the displayed volume slider.

Option 2.

1. Click on Start, click Settings, and click Control
Panel.
2. Click on 'Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices',
click 'Sound and Audio Devices,
3. Now adjust the displayed volume slider.
