Email merge

M

Mike

I am using MS Office 07 and have followed the procedure to complete an email
merge - starting in Word. I also tried the email merge wizard. In both
situations I can see the emails populating as per instructions but when I
select finsh to "send" the emails do not send.

On looking at different threads on Office online I thought that maybe I am
missing an Add-In and downloaded one from
http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/mail_merge/

Running the email merge procedure I get the same result (only tried a list
with 25 emails). I can see on the screen the names being added to each email
but they do not send.

Any assistance will be geatly appreciated.

The MAPILab addin is not needed for doing a basic mail merge but does offer
you some additional flexibility.

Is Outlook actually running when you do the send?
Has it been set as your default mail application in Windows?
Which mail account type are you using?
Are you running anything that could interfere with the sending procedure?
Virus scanners which integrate with Outlook are a known source of mail
merges going wrong (and quite a few other things). Disable/uninstall this
integration of your virus scanner and try again.

I tested the virus software... turned it off but had the same issue. A friend
looked at it and said it was not an ISP issue as the merged emails are not
going to the outbox. Any clues would be apprecited.

If you do a mail merge of only 1 or 2 emails, do they send then?
Is there anything logged to the Event Viewer regarding this?
Tried doing a repair on Office already?

Hi Robert,

I did try 2 emails and it didn't work.
I looked at the event viewer and it says it is not running. I tried for 40
minutes to activate it but got nowhere. Can you tell me how to activate same.
I am super scared of installing my disks agian and running a repair
operation. In the past 3 months I logged 30 hours with MS in Kuala Lumper to
fix the programs. I run my own businss and I can't afford for that to occur
again. I am travelling until Tuesday and if necessary I will give it a go
then.

Sorry to be a pest - but most times I try something the computer spits at me
(metaphorically of course).
