Email Alerts & Rules

Two Questions:

Is there a way I can choose NOT to have the desktop alert (ghost) or
envelope icon in the desk tray for certain kinds of incoming mail?

I have my mail filtered through rules and in 2 cases I don't need alerts for
the incoming mail. I have a rule for one folder set to "permanently delete &
stop processing rules," but I still get the desktop alert.

Next Question:
I have some emails filtered to go straight to Archive folders, but do not
receive alerts for those messages. Is there a way to get alerts for the
Archive folders - or do alerts only work for the Inbox?

Version of outlook? You can turn off the alert for all mail and use rules to
show it for those messages you wish to see the alert on.

Sorry, forgot that... Outlook 2003

Version of outlook? You can turn off the alert for all mail and use rules to
show it for those messages you wish to see the alert on.
