email address corruption/encryption?

thI use Outlook (Office XP version) for mail. If someone receiving a mail
from me wishes to reply and use the "reply" button on their email client,
they receive a "not delivered" message and I do not receive the response.
Also, in Internet Explorer, if I log onto a website using my email address I
get a message saying "email address is invalid". I have tested my address on
ohter PCs and all works OK so this problem is restricted to my main PC. It
seems my address is being corrupted or encrypted in some way on the way out.
I've checked for viruses etc but seem to be clean. I can receive emails OK.
Anyone recognise this problem and/or any solutions recommended?

What's your e-mail address listed as in your Outlook account properties?
Also check your "reply to" settings if you have put something in there.

What websites are you having this problem with? Can you send mail to
yourself from a Yahoo/Hotmail account successfully?

My email address is correct in Outlook properties. The websites I can't log
into are news webites I have subscribed to (eg The Economist). I can receive
email from Hotmail or indeed any sender if they type in my email address
rather than hitting the reply button (ie using the script I send out). I'm
baffled; thank you for replying ... any further thoughts?

And in the reply address? Something is funky if Joe Bloggs can send you
*new* mail but not reply to mail you've sent.

You might post in microsoft.public.outlook. Re the website stuff - I am not
sure; could be something in IE - malware? Never heard of anything like that
before. Try Firefox or another browser on another computer.
