EDB files keep appearing on desktop

When opening windows mail the following files keep appearing on my desktop :
edb.chk, edb.log,edbres.00001.jrs , edbres.00002.jrs , and temp.edb.

How can I stop this from occuring ?

When did it start happening? What did you do before that?

I had just installed Windows Vista , setup my email accounts and imported all
of my old messages then opened windows mail and all worked well the first
time. The third or fourth time I opened up msmail I recieved the " this
message cannot be displayed"warning and when I closed msmail the files were
on my desktop. I deleted the files but when I open msmail they return.
The computer has only been up and running vista for the past 2 days

If you have antivirus software set to scan email then you have to disable
that feature or, depending on which antivirus program you have, you need to
uninstall it.

Then close WinMail and try deleting those desktop files and then run the
compact and repair functions of my Windows Mail Utility
(www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) then see if that fixes the problem. If not post
back.
