having just puchased a pc with xp pre-installed i've tried playing some of my
old games on my p,c namely black and white and emperor battle for dune , yet
under xp neither of theese programs worked i've tried downloading the patches
from ea game but still no luck , also tried running the games in
compatability mode any one know how i can get some older games like black and
white to work with xp?

What specifically happens when you try to play those games?
Black and White should work fine with the latest patch installed.
