E-mails received but not displayed

After complaints from correspondents I have found that while most e-mails are
being received normally there are a proportion which arrive (and can be found
by searching) but do not show in the INBOX or in any the other folders. I
have checked that they are not being intercepted by the spam filter or virus
checker and that the sender is shown in my contacts list. When found by a
search there is no problem in forwarding them to another machine. Any
suggestions please!

Try removing Group By Conversation view and see if the messages appear in
the Inbox?
View>Current View, (Alt V V G).
Do the same when viewing any other affected folder.
