DVD's Crash Computer

For a while now, whenever I insert a DVD into the drive,
things have been acting a bit screwy... I open up a
program to play the DVD (RealPlayer, Windows Media
Player, WinDVD, InterActual), and the DVD usually gets
along just fine all the way through the Main Menu. Once I
try to navigate from the main menu, usually to Play
Movie, the computer suddenly restarts itself. (Once or
twice, the computer will restart even before the DVD
reaches the Main Menu, but this has happened with special
music DVD's I've recieved with CD's, so I think there may
be no Main Menu?) I've tried many different DVD's and I
always get the same result. The computer just crashes
once I try to actually play the movie.

Does anyone have any ideas on whats causing this problem
and how to fix it?
