DVD-SPEED

Is there a way to lower your DVD-rom speed to read on 10X instead reading for
full. And I mean this without using a software wich will manage the DVD-rom.
Becouse I haven't been satisfied with Nero DriveSpeed or any other.

May depend on the manu. of yr dvd, there is a facility on my MSI dvd/cdr
combo
