DVD-ROM VS CD-ROM

If I'm going to buy a CD/DVD ROM drive. I don't need to buy a CD/DVD Burner
as my primary drive to play CDs? Or like a CD/DVD R/RW Media drive? What
about just a plain CD/DVD ROM drive? Or which one should I go with for a
primary drive? I can spend up to 125 bucks or so. Just a plain answer. For
ex. yes Daniel you should buy the CD/DVD ROM drive. Is that plain enough.
Thanks Daniel

You should get a CD/DVD burner.

Up to $125???... you'll get a lot of change.

Don't spend all that extra $s at once.

Now, after I've read you question why would I say get a DVD burner....
because the optimal word for most folks is BACKUP... ie they don't. Then
when something goes wrong, they lose their photos, their documents, their
music, their videos etc.

A CD holds 700mb of data. A DVD holds 4.3gb of data. Burnable DVDs are
just as cheap as burnable CDs. So why would you want a CD when a DVD holds
over 6 times the amount of data. A DVD drive plays CDs. A CD drive does
not play DVDs.

Buy what you want, Daniel.

With $125 for a CD/DVD drive - you'd be a fool not to get your money's worth
and get a burner for CD/DVDs.
Technically - for most people - there is no need for more than one CD/DVD
drive.
