DVD-ROM Drives

Can DVD-ROM drives play regular cd-rom discs? I'm building a computer and I
already have a hard drive , power supply, tower case, motherboard and cpu
package(AMD), and I need something to play the CDs . I have to build a
computer or take one apart for this certification computer class. I think
they can because my computer has a dvd drive and a cd-dvd burner below it.
But I stick everything in the dvd drive to play any cd discs. But, an expect
could give me advice on what kind of cd drive or dvd drive I could use.
Thanks Daniel

Computer DVD drives read CDs.
Get a DVD +/- RW & DL drive.
That way you can read and write about every popular media format out there.

Two people have given you straight answers.

Here was my response again.

A DVD-Rom will be able to read your CD media.

Neither response contained a weblink related to your problem, so I have no
idea where you
think someone gave you a link to a website that has a "virus".

You should be careful about appearing ungrateful for the help you were
given.

Your question was answered. What more do you want?

Thanks Jason that's about really what I wanted. Also maybe your right too
Sherman. I've only spent though 120 bucks on a 2200+ AMD CPU, well , 180
bucks out the door at compUSA, now I know I got taken better prices other
spots ok, with a 2 year warrenty. I don't know about other spots with a
warrenty like that for 180 bucks out the door. I know the guy pushed an AMD
on me. Unless your going with a pentium 4 what's the difference? AMD in fact
took the edge with the double 100Mhz-133Mhz remember. Intel was running
around like chickens with their heads cut off. LOL Ok sorry, I don't want to
get cocky , you guys are helping me out.
