dvd re writer

my dvd re writer has stopped working, it is not recognising that there is a disc in the drive. I have tried to restore my computer to an earlier date but it will not allow me. Please help

It's most likely to be the drive itself, not the PC.
Have you tried cleaning the lense?
If it's under warrenty, you can get it repaired.

Definitely sounds like the drive is kaput :(

Solution - but a new DVDRW, can be sourced for around £25.00 inc postage online or a little bit more from PC World et al.

PC World actually sell some good products but I'll agree that around 95% of their products are more expensive.

I hate PC world tbh, but they're handy if you need something quick and also if something goes faulty you don't have to go through the dreaded RMA process :)

Yeah, you can just walk in, it's convenient but expensive.
Now I don't want this thread to turn into a price comparison one, so it's up to the buyer about what he finks.
