dvd drive help

I have a sony dw-d22a dvd rw drive. I can read the first disc I try, but
I must reboot in order to read a different dvd disc. Any suggestions on
what to do to correct this?
I am using an M7NCD motherboard which has nvidia nforce2 chips. I have
installed the latest updates from nvidia.

Hi Jim,

What kind of discs are you trying to read? A commerical disc, -R, +R,
+/-RW?
More details needed. Are you trying to watch a movie, backup, etc?

What software are you using?

It makes no difference what kind of disk - I tried all kinds since
reading your reply. I have tried commercial cd discs and my homemade
discs, no difference - must reboot to get new reading - reminds me of
15 years ago on my computer.
