DVD Contents Not Refreshed (and Volume Name Not Shown) When New DVD Loaded

Once I have loaded a DVD, no matter what I do, I cannot refresh the contents
when I load a new DVD. So, if I insert DVD "backup01" and read the drive, I
can see it's folders and files, copy them, etc. When I Eject and put in DVD
"backup02" the folders and files for "backup01" still show up and the volume
name is blank when I select Properties (shows the DVD used/free space
correctly). I've pressed F5, ejected manually, ejected via the Explorer
Menu, even closed Explorer and reopened it, but nothing works to show the
contents of the new DVD. This has been going on for months and months. I
thought it had been "cured" when I replaced the DVD drives, but it's still
happening.

Windows XP Pro, all updates done. DVD drives are LG burners that work fine
except for this one problem. Nero 7.?? burning software. Autoplay is OFF.
All the DVDs are closed (no further writing).

Any ideas? Anyone else seen this problem?

computer though that the CD-RW was still full even after deleting all the
files on it, therefore it wouldn't let me put anymore data on it. So
restarting your computer should help.

Actually I've heard that re-enabling autorun solves this problem because the
drive checks all the data again so that it can autorun, but I'm not all that
sure try it if you wish.

That's not really practical (though it does work). I may have up to 10 DVDs
to copy files from. Restarting 10 times isn't practical. :)

Addendum: I have found the following "fix", which is slightly less hassle
that restarting. I eject the DVD, close the drive, and then click on the
drive icon in Explorer, insert a new DVD, and it reads the new contents.
