DVD/CD Drives

Hi All,

I hope that I'm in the right place for this question. I have removed my CD
writer and installed a DVD RW drive. I now have two DVD drives on my machine.
Both are manufactured by LG. One is model type GSA 4167B and the other DRD
8160B. Unfortunately neither of them will allow me to burn a CD. I understood
that the latter one would burn either. In Windows XP device manager
everything appears to be ok? Any help would be welcome.

Many thanks,

Baz

All or almost all DVD drives include a CD burner, as far as I'm
aware. There are two lasers, one for CD and one for DVDs. And you say
you've checked the specs.

Does it recognize a CD-ROM when you insert one? If not, then the
explanation is simple: the CD laser is defective.

Hi Guys,

Tnx for your responses. When I purchased the drive the spec did say for DVD
and Cd writing. I am wondering now???

Cheers,

Baz
