dvd drive doesnt read dvds

My dvd rom drive will not read dvds. One day I went to
watch a dvd I borrowed from a friend and it worked fine.
Then later that day it didnt work I ha a lg drd 8160B dvd
drive. Now I can play dvds in my sony dvd rw drive but
not the lg drive. I tried different aspi drivers(4.6,
4.7, 4.71)but nothing helped. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the input but Ive never had to chg the reg
settings. I ahve tried different ASPI layers, tried
uninstal/reinstall. Almost ready to buy a new one(The one
I have was a throw in model with the comp when I bought
it)
