DVD Burner Stops at 99%

I have been burning DVDs with files from Windows Movie Maker. I was having
no trouble at all until last week. On the third DVD I was burning, it
suddenly said an error occured. I started over and tried again....and
again....seven or eight times now. Each time, it encrypts, then burns, then
is "finishing" the disc when all the sudden, at 99% complete, the drawer pops
open and an error message flashes ("Cannot create the DVD. The DVD could not
be burned because an error occurred. Try using another blank disc and make
sure that your DVD burner is connected and working properly. -- the whole
time it is showing, another box still says "Creating DVD, please wait.
Finishing Disc. Please wait. 99% complete.")

So far, I have (a) tried new discs (b) checked to make sure it was ok on
device mgr. (c) checked for updates (d) tried a new movie file in case the
file was corrupt (it did the same thing) and (e) tried burning CD with data
and music (CD burning was fine). I also sat on the phone with some guy from
Microsoft for almost 2 hours today, to no avail other than to blame it on my
Nortons.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help. This message board is WAY
better than anything else I've found!!

You said you tried new discs. What brand are you using? I had the same
issue with no-name brands and when I switched to TDK, everything worked.

Lower burn speed. It worked for me. Otherwise I had to crease an iso (image)
and then burn to disk.

I have tried changing the speed to "medium" and it didn't do anything
differently. I will try slow now, just to humor myself. :)

Tried the slow burn and it popped it out at 99%
