DVD Burner Deactivates after each use

I just bought a new high-speed DVD Burner that USB connects to my PC. I
bought it because my old one (internal) is very slow. In the new device, I
can read a CD or DVD but then to read a 2nd CD or DVD, I have to uninstall
the DVD player and reinstall it to get it to work. Also, if I try copy and
burn a CD or DVD, the device will only read--it's deactivated so I can't
write what was written.

Can someone help me?

Contact support from where you bought the device.

Tom:

Maybe I didn't explain my problem correctly. It's the drive that
deactivates after each use (and therefore the new DVD player). I contacted
LiteOn, but they just suggested to check that BIOS is setup correctly, and it
is. There's nothing wrong with the unit itself nor with the PC. Do you or
anyone else have suggestions for me?
