cannot burn dvd

I cannot burn or play a dvd. It will play CD.
I went to the Windows Help & Support (error log), it said Device\CdRom0,
has a bad block. What does bad block mean? Will I have to get a new Cd/dvd
burner or ?

I purchased a CD/DVD Laser Lens cleaner, but that did not help, I still
cannot burn dvd's.

XP can not burn a DVD -+ R(W) disk natively.

If after cleaning the lens, then yes you will need to replace the drive. DVD
drives use two different laser, one for all CDs and the second for DVDs.
